BEREA — City Hall resident dog Parker invites the community to help restock the SCAN food pantry shelves.
Parker’s Paws is a food drive from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 10 to benefit the SCAN Food Hunger Pantry. It will be in the parking lot by the SCAN office off South Rocky River Drive behind City Hall.
Those who bring their own pet to the drive with a non-perishable food item will receive a free nail trim and teeth check for their canine from Dr. Rhonda R. Smith, veterinarian of Smith House Calls.
All pets will receive a doggie bag filled with treats and toys while supplies last.
The food drive sponsors include Parker, Mayor Cyril M. Kleem and Dr. Rhonda R. Smith.
Pet owners also will be able to buy micro-chipping for their pet at a discounted price of $35 with a lifetime registration. That is a $15 savings. Cash, credit cards and checks will be accepted.
